After starting research in 2021 with Gregoire (a fellow 1st year student), we started Volta, the project of creating an accessible electric race car via retrofit in September 2022.Â
Today, our team of 20 students has successfully acheived our goal : Creating the Worlds First Electric 208 Racing cup.
My main task as project manager is to define and continuously adapt the steps and associated deadlines for the project and each division.
I also lead the control systems division on the technical side, working to develop the low voltage wiring harness and the software controlling the motor and on-board electronics.
Finally, I work with our sponsorship team defining budgets, preparing partnership presentations, finding sponsors and with the communications team to advertise our project through many different medias.
In 2023/2024, I was President of ITD, a student club around motorsport developpement, set up in 1996, today with around 100 members, managing over 100,000 euros a year.
My different tasks were to :
- Ensure the smooth running of all association projects (Saar-e, Volta, In-genus...)
- Work with the treasurer to manage the year's budgets according to the needs of each project and event.
- Prepare events for the benefit of association members, such as practical classes (welding, data, etc...) or conferences with speakers from the Motorsport world.
- Represent the association at different events such as the Paris Auto Show or local events.
Technical director of the first French team to participate in the F1 in Schools World Finals (Silverstone, 2022).
A great experience to start learning project management and team work with tight deadlines, limited budget and necesity of results.
The final score is impacted by final performance but the main factor is the presentation of our organisation, technical decisions and strategy during the whole year.
I had the role of mechanic and electrical engineer on Saar-e, a Yamaha YXZ1000 converted to electric by our 100% student team between 2020 to 2023.
First ever participation of an electric vehicule in the Carta rally, joining the west to east coast of Morroco. Totalling 1000km of Race distance with one stage victory.
Yamaha special guests at the Baja Portalegre in October 2023, being the only student team against over 200 other vehicules. Working under pressure to get our buggy on the starting line ready for the stages despite electrical problems.
